Merton by William Morris
A quintessential Arts & Crafts rug originally designed by William Morris, the most famous 19th century English designer, and founder of the Arts & Crafts Movement. This Merton is first-quality sample carpet; it has no flaws and is new from the mill. It measures 5 feet 6 inches wide by 7 feet long, with a background of dark indigo and red & gold in both the field and the border. The design is a Morris classic that can be viewed from all directions. The smaller, close-up photos of just the edges with bits of the interior are the best way to get a sense of the actual colors. This rug is made with the same, luxurious New Zealand wool that our customers love for being so plush and soft, but durable. As with all our carpets, this was made in a GoodWeave-certified workshop (formerly RugMark), so you can rest assured that no child labor was used in the production of this carpet.
